The Solomon Islands

Today we arrived in the Solomon Islands - it's beautiful here! After leaving Italy we got a plane to Australia and then a boat to Gizo, one of the islands. We checked into the Naqua Motel, which is amazing! It has a great view, overlooking the town of Gizo. Chinatown is just a 10 minute walk away, we already know where we'll be eating tonight!

After checking in and getting settled, we went on a snorkelling trip, arranged by the staff at the motel (they also arrange Simbo Island tours and surfing lessons) The snorkelling was really great, we went to Toa Maru, which is just a 20 minute boat ride from Gizo and is one of the South Pacific's most popular diveable WWII shipwrecks. We were really lucky that we remembered to pack our underwater camera as there was a lot to take pictures of!




      


As you can tell it's absolutely beautiful, we had a really great time! It was very interesting! We've just come back from the snorkelling and we're all exhausted now, time to relax until dinner
